The resorts at Walt Disney World provide vacationers unique places to relax after spending time at the parks.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a Deluxe resort that is a short walking distance to Epcot and a quick boat ride to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The resort is in a great location, right in the middle of the Walt Disney World Resort which means it is close to everything.
This New England-style resort includes a 3-acre water playground suitable for all ages. There is even a pirate ship with waterslides that flow into Stormalong Bay. This pirate ship is home to the highest waterslide of all the Walt Disney World Resorts.
One of my favorite features of this resort is the white sandy beach. Taking off my flip-flops and digging my toes in the warm sand was such a treat. In the evening hours you can catch a Disney movie under the stars on the beach. It is a unique way to enjoy the warm evenings in Florida with that extra special Disney touch.
The decor of the lobby is a nautical theme and there is plenty of room to sit and relax or chat with your family.
The standard rooms at the Yacht Club are spacious and provide enough space for a family of five. When I stayed at the Yacht Club I had 1 King Bed and the room had plenty of room for relaxing.
The bed was extremely comfy, maybe it was just the Pixie Dust but I had the best night of sleep in this bed.
The bathroom vanity area is spacious with multiple shelves for the entire family.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort sits on the same property and is considered the Yacht Club’s sister resort. This is a great benefit because you get easy access to the dining, shopping and recreation offered at the Beach Club as well.
There are a variety of dining options available including:
- Fine/Signature Dining
- Character Dining
- Casual Dining
- Lounges
- Quick-Service
- 24-Hour, In-Room Dining
My favorite place to grab breakfast is from the Beach Club Marketplace. This is a Quick-Service location and they serve the best breakfast for those who need to grab a quick bite before heading into the parks. The Scrambled Egg Platter with Potato Casserole is a must.
Another fantastic place to chow down is a the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, home of the famous Kitchen Sink Sundae. The Kitchen Sink serves four people and includes Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Coffee, and Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream covered in every topping.
The recreation options seem to be endless and they include:
- Swimming
- Miniture Golf
- Beach Volleyball
- Jogging
- Campfire Activities
- Motorized Boat Rentals
- Bike Rentals
- Fishing
- Tennis
- Playgrounds
- Arcades
Staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort was one of my favorite places to stay at Walt Disney World because of the variety of recreation, entertainment, dining and the central location of the resort. If you haven’t stayed here before I hope you give this resort a try.
