Disney ¡Viva Navidad!

By Dawn Cullo

Visiting the Disneyland Resort during the holidays is magical and the best news is that the Disneyland Resort stays decorated until January 6th, 2015!

Last year Disneyland Resort introduced  “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” and it was a big success.  Guests will get the chance to enjoy this festive holiday presentation again this year through Jan. 6, 2015 in Disney California Adventure Park.

“Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” is a celebration inspired by the warmth and joyous spirit of the Latino culture, filled with holiday traditions, jubilant dancing and exciting music.

Based in and around the Paradise Garden area of Disney California Adventure, the special activities include live Latino music, dance lessons, holiday foods and, the “Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party.

Disney characters participating in “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy in their festive costumes along with the Three Caballeros: Donald Duck, Panchito from Mexico and José Carioca from Brazil.

The exciting “Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party” takes over Paradise Garden several times a day, featuring the Three Caballeros on a festive holiday float, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse transported on colorfully decorated street tricycles, flag-bearers carrying papel picado banners, Mexican folklorico dancers, samba dancers and drummers, plus giant “Mojiganga” puppets, including Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

You can find a great selection of food in the dining locations of Paradise Garden such chicken mole, street-style tacos and sweet treats like the cinnamon-dusted buñuelos with caramel sauce.

I hope you get the chance to visit the Disneyland Resort this holiday season and see “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!”
