Disney Junior – Live on Stage! at Disney Parks

By Dawn Cullo

My four year old loves to watch “Doc McStuffins”, “Mickey Mouse Club House” and “Sofia the First” so when we visit the Disney Parks she loves to see the “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” show.

In Walt Disney World the show appears in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Animation Courtyard.

In Disneyland the show can be found in Disney California Adventure at Hollywood Land

Once inside the lights will be dim but there will be colorful lights during the show. Take note of this before entering and let your kids know it may seem dark at first. There are three sections you can choose to sit. I suggest trying to get in the middle of the theater but don’t get the first few rows because it may be hard for smaller kids to see the characters on the stage. If you can get near the isle that is good too because you can have a little bit more room. Seating is on the floor, there are no chairs in the theater.

The show was previously titled Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage! when my oldest daughter saw it in 2007 at Disney California Adventure. The show has since been updated and guests can enjoy watching Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land pirates in a four part stage show.

The show is also lead by a very enthusiastic host that introduces each of the four story segments and is joined by other Cast Members throughout the show who sing, dance and clap along with your kids. There are many fun surprises during the show as well.

I really like being able to see this show because it takes place indoors where it is nice and cool and this allows us to take a break from the heat. The show runs for about 25 minutes and runs throughout the day, about every hour. Be sure to check your Times Guide or ask a Cast Member when the next show will occur.

The four segments of the show are as follows:

Sofia the First
In this story Sofia seeks help from Cedric to cast a spell to help make her father’s party a success.

Doc McStuffins

Lambie dances too much and ends up hurting herself. Doc, Stuffy the dragon and Hallie the Hippo come to her rescue and help her feel better.
