Disneyland will turn 60 years old on July 17th, 2015. Several new entertainment elements will kick off on May 22nd that will knock your socks off!!

“Paint the Night” Parade

“The “Paint the Night” parade brings some of the most innovative floats, vibrant costumes, dazzling special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances ever presented at Disneyland Resort. This new, state-of-the-art nighttime parade floods Main Street, U.S.A., with stunning color, fun surprises and more than 1.5 million brilliant LED lights.”

This parade is currently at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and you can see more images on their website.

Disneyland Forever Fireworks Show

“Disneyland Forever” envelops you in an enthralling, breathtaking journey like never before, leveraging the largest installation of projection mapping technology in a Disney park and surprising special effects. Main Street, U.S.A., and several other Disneyland park locations become a magical canvas taking us into a world of dreams, from flying above the London skyline from “Peter Pan” to a dance with King Louie in “The Jungle Book.”

“Disneyland Forever” also features two original songs, the theme “Live the Magic” and the inspiring closing song “Kiss Goodnight,” written by Disney Legend Richard Sherman.”

The photo image was from the blogger preview event on January 28th where there was a live demonstration of the new building projections.

Disneyland Resort is Going to Sparkle in Diamonds

“As part of the celebration, the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland park and Carthay Circle Theatre in Disney California Adventure park will each have a diamond medallion featuring the letter “D.”

The entire resort will sparkle with Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration décor and festive banners in shades of Disneyland blue. Also bearing the diamond anniversary theme, creative merchandise and food items will be designed to complement the celebration.”

Sleeping Beauty Castle is currently closed for refurbishment.  It will be covered in a tarp until May while the creative team at Disney apply the 60th Anniversary dazzle.  However, this tarp is a special tarp that has the image of Herb Ryman’s Sleeping Beauty Castle concept art printed on it.  If you plan on visiting Disneyland before May then you will get to take advantage of a unique Sleeping Beauty Castle photo. The walkway into Fantasyland will reopen in early March.

Popcorn Buckets

The 60th Anniversary popcorn buckets are the cutest buckets I’ve ever seen.  I would love to have one in each color and display them at home after my trip.

World of Color

Over at Disney California Adventure the popular “World of Color” will be debuting a special edition of the fantastical water show. “World of Color” is closed until March 12th to prepare for the new show.

Be Prepared

Are you headed to Disneyland Resort in the next few months? Be sure to check the Disneyland Calendar for attractions that are closed in preparations for the big event. Attractions open and close at different times depending up on how much refurbishment is needed so check the calendar prior to going.
